Black Panther

The Black Panther movie has been looming for so long and it’s finally here! YES! But what many didn’t anticipate was the fanfare and impact the movie would have on some many. Especially the impact it would have on women of color in STEM.

While some are familiar with the character Shuri, the princess of Wakanda, others like myself were happily SURPRISED to see her. Best part of Black Panther  was seeing her, a black woman in STEM show her  brilliance, resourcefulness, creativity and detail in her STEM work.

Shuri’s mere presence is importance to women of color and girls of color. Here’s why:
